Christopher Bontrager, a native of Cullman, Alabama, joined Marengo County EDA as Executive Director in March of 2017. Prior to his arrival, he most recently served as the vice president of C3 of Northwest Alabama EDA where he directed the organization’s existing industry and business retention efforts as well as workforce development. Christopher holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Auburn University with a concentration in Community and Economic Development as well as an undergraduate degree from Auburn. While attending graduate school, Christopher worked as a graduate assistant for Auburn’s athletic department and also worked for the Macon County Economic Development Authority. Christopher is a graduate of the Economic Development Intensive Course (Auburn University) as well the Applied Honors Economic Development Course (University of Alabama).
Prior to attending Auburn University, Christopher served in the U.S Army, which included one tour in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Christopher is now continuing his service as a commissioned officer in the Army Reserves.
Lauren Barton, a native of Demopolis, joined Marengo County EDA in October of 2017. Lauren is responsible for coordinating the Authority’s marketing efforts, our community events, as well as our our private membership base.
